Doctor series are among the most successful niche genres in TV history, with many of their subgenres. “Grey’s Anatomy” now has an incredible 21 seasons and focuses on the lives of doctors, enriched with romantic and dramatic elements. “Scrubs – The Beginners,” on the other hand, focuses on humour and does not take either the medical life or itself too seriously, which gives the series a unique, comedic touch.
Now, Netflix also wants to get started with an in-house doctor series. She will especially delight fans of series such as “Grey’s Anatomy”. Starting today, “Pulse” (2025) can be streamed exclusively on Netflix. Above all, she addresses emotional issues that are tailored to being a doctor, but can be related metaphorically to the whole of life.
“Pulse” (2025): This is the action
At Maguire Hospital, a trauma center in Miami, the medical staff faces extreme challenges to save lives every day. But as a huge hurricane head towards the city, the hospital becomes a chaotic scene in which emergencies and conflicts escalate. In the midst of the storm chaos, the senior physician Dr. Xander Phillips (Colin Woodell) suspended, and the young assistant doctor Dr. Danny Simms (Willa Fitzgerald) unexpectedly takes over his post.
When the clinic is locked up during the hurricane, Xander and Danny not only have to perform their professional duties, but also deal with their forbidden and complicated romance. The emergency room staff fights under extreme conditions for patients’ lives, while personal and professional conflicts burden any additional the already difficult situation.
What awaits you with “Pulse” (2025)
The first season of the new Netflix production includes ten episodes. A second season does not seem to be planned at the moment. When exactly they appear and how many episodes they might contain remains open. Netflix is known to repeatedly set series, so that fans still have to wait forward.
The Netflix series “Pulse” was created by Zoe Robyn (“Hawaii Five-0”), who shares the role of Showrunner with an experienced TV producer. Carlton Cuse, known for his involvement in the mystery success “Lost””Lost”, acts as co-showrunner and producer.
The cast of the series novelty is impressive, even though it consists mainly of up-and-coming talents.
