A Sikh was doing ‘Gatka’ on the road in America, police shot him dead

A 36-year-old Sikh man was shot dead in the middle of the road by the Los Angeles police. The deceased has been identified as Gurpreet Singh. According to footage released by the Los Angeles Police Department, Gurpreet Singh was demonstrating the traditional martial art ‘Gatka’ of the Sikhs. Police said he was a crypto in the city of Los Angeles. Com was walking with an axe near the Arena. He was shot dead after he refused to accept the police and tried to attack them police. The axe was later identified as “Khanda”, a double-edged sword used in Indian martial arts.

The incident took place on July 13, when the Los Angeles Police Department received several calls on 911. One person was hovering a large blade over passers-by at the busy intersection of Figeroa Street and Olympic Boulevard.

Trying to throw the bottle and escape

The police also said that Singh left his vehicle on the road and once tried to cut his tongue. “The authorities ordered Singh several times to release the weapon,” the police said.

When the police reached him, he threw a bottle at them and tried to flee from the spot, he said. The police were chasing him, and he was driving randomly. After hitting another police vehicle, he stopped near Figueroa and 12th Street. He then attacked them with a knife, after which he was shot.

Investigation into shooting incident underway

“A two-foot-long knife was recovered from the spot and recorded as evidence,” the police said.

He was taken to the hospital but died of bullet injuries. No civilian or officer was injured in the incident.

The shooting is currently under investigation.
